FAQ

Registration Information

Can I register at Packet Pickup or on race morning?
There is no day of race registration. Final registration (for any events that are not full) will be at Packet Pickup on Saturday, April 20, at Super Jock and Jill Redmond (16095 Cleveland Street, Redmond 98052) from 10am – 1pm. Late registrants are not guaranteed finisher medals or shirts.

Is it mandatory to pick up my race packet?
Yes. Runners who have registered in advance may have a friend pick up their race packet on Saturday. Runners arriving early may also pick up their packet near the starting line on race day.

Are refunds available, or can I transfer my registration to another runner?
No, entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Can I switch race distances?
Yes. Runners may switch to a lower distance before April 20. If you would like to change distances email the race director at mtsi@eastsiderunners.com by 4pm on April 20, or in person at packet pickup on Saturday.

Where can I find lodging?
See our travel information page, where some motel options are listed for nearby communities along I-90 east of Seattle.

Course and Race Information

I want to run part of the course in advance. Is there a map?
Maps for the half marathon can be found on the half marathon page and maps for the marathon can be found on the marathon page. Maps for the ultras can be found on the ultra page.

What will the weather be like?
Average temperatures (°F) for North Bend in April are a high of 58 and a low of 39. Record high is 90; record low 24. There is approximately a 50% chance of measurable rain on race day. Sunrise is 6:30 a.m.; sunset 7:52 p.m.

When do you close the course?
The course closes at 5 p.m. for all events. For 50-milers, that means an 11-hour cutoff, or a 12-hour cutoff if you request a 5 a.m. start before race day. 50K runners start at 8:30 and have an 8.5 hour cutoff.

You may still complete the course if running slower than the cutoff pace, but volunteer support, aid stations and finish line support will close based on the cutoff pace. Once aid stations close, a pacer is strongly recommended for any runners wishing to continue.

Where can my friends watch?
Spectators are welcome anywhere along the courses as long as they park safely and legally and don’t impede racers, officials or traffic. Since most of the course is along the Snoqualmie Valley Trail, access points from roads are limited. A common traffic bottleneck is near Rattlesnake Lake. We ask that all participants and spectators be especially quiet and respectful in residential areas. Remember, it’s early on a Sunday morning!

What food is provided at the aid stations?
For the Ultra runners, details are provided in the “Aid and Water” section of the Ultra Packet. Specific food details will be updated as race day approaches. For personal food and other supplies, drop bags are allowed and should be left at the start before 6 a.m. for 50-Mile runners and before 8:30 for 50K runners. Bags can then be picked up at the finish. Drop bags may contain items such as medications, clothing, gloves, hats, shoes, etc.

Are pacers allowed for Ultras?
Runners can have support provided by friends and family members anywhere along the course provided they do not interfere with traffic or other runners. Ultra runners can have one support person run or ride a bike to support them starting at mile 20 (for 50-Mile runners) or mile 21 (50K runners), provided the runner or biker does not interfere with other participants. Mountain bikes and cross bikes can easily ride the trail, but street bikes with narrow tires will have difficulty.

What are the prizes?
First, second and third place finishers in each category receive a Mt. Si Relay & Trail Runs prize (examples are coffee mug, wine glass, etc.). All finishers will receive a finishers medal.
