58-Mile Relay

5-person teams; each runner does two legs of 3-8 miles

Team Categories, by total age
Age categories are determined by the total age of all five team members on race day. This allows flexibility in assembling your team.

  • Open: Under 200 years
  • Masters: 200 and over

Team Categories, by gender

  • Men’s: All 5 Males or 4 Males / 1 Female
  • Women’s: All 5 Females only
  • Mixed: Mixed gender teams with no more than 3 males

Recreation Category
A non-competitive category, for teams not covered by any other category, or those simply running for fun. This would include teams with more or fewer than five runners. Not eligible for awards. Email race director at mtsi@eastsiderunners.com for link to sign up your team if more than 5 runners. Each additional runner is $10 if they want a t-shirt and medal.

Relay Course Description

Most of the 58-mile course is on the hard-packed Snoqualmie Valley Trail. It has a gentle grade, excellent for running, with spectacular views. There are ten individual legs, with each team member running two. Exchanges between each leg are well marked and manned by volunteers. Method of exchange is a simple touch off by hand. Race course is subject to permit from the Washington State Parks Department for use of the Palouse to Cascade Trail.

Team Captains

The team captain will be responsible for communicating all information about the race to their team. This information includes race instructions, starting time for your team, transportation, directions, final results and all other details.

Finish line

Food and drink will be available at the finish area. A limited number of shirts from this year and previous years will be for sale.

Results and awards

Preliminary results will be posted at the finish line. Complete results will be available online soon after the race. Awards will be given to the top finishers in each category/division. All team members will receive a finisher medal.
